Volunteering

Our Mission
To recruit, train and maintain volunteers needed to support programs that provide direct services to clients, educate the public and raise funds for the agency.

Metrolina AIDS Project (MAP) has a wide variety of volunteer opportunities for individuals, business and groups. MAP's volunteers are a tremendous asset to the agency and make it possible to continue our fight against HIV/AIDS in the greater Mecklenburg area. Please email khales@metrolinaaidsproject.org or call 704-333-1435 for more information. All volunteers MUST go through AIDS 101 training.

AIDS 101

This volunteer training seminar is designed to provide individuals with the knowledge and tools to volunteer for any AIDS service organization in greater Mecklenburg county. AIDS 101 offers basic information on HIV/AIDS, prevention measures, sensitivity training and effective communication techniques. At the seminar, volunteers are given a certificate of completion for general volunteer training and provided with information on all organizations that have AIDS-related volunteer opportunities.

Special Talents
We are always looking for volunteers with special talents such as:

  • certification in massage therapy
  • enjoy cooking
  • have graphic design experience or
  • have other talents

You are encouraged to register for AIDS 101 and become a MAP volunteer.

Major projects and fund-raising budgets can be significantly reduced with these services. These wonderful gifts and services enable MAP to shift budgetary needs away from the administrative and apply them to better serve the population who are affected by HIV/AIDS.

Groups
If your social, church or business group is interested in volunteering or donating, please call 704-333-1435.
