	Did you know?
		An estimated 3,129 persons were living with HIV disease in Mecklenburg as of the end of 2004. However, the Centers for Disease Control estimate that only two-thirds to three-fourths of persons living with HIV disease have been tested and know their status.

	Free Testing
	Metrolina AIDS Project provides free HIV and Syphilis testing to all residents of Mecklenburg county, along with pre- and post-test counseling at many sites in the Charlotte area. Call today for an appointment if needed. Outside Mecklenburg County, please call your local health department for information on HIV testing sites and costs in your area. Many other communities provide low- or no-cost testing sites for local residents at the county health departments.
